Notary services
If you need the services of a Notary for example to have a document or signature witnessed, then you can make an appointment to visit our Gravesend office at 18 Stone Street or our Maidstone office at 16 Mill Street.
A Notary Public is a public officer appointed by the Court of Faculties of The Archbishop of Canterbury. This enables them to draw, attest or certify under their official seal, for use anywhere in the world, deeds and other documents including Wills, conveyances of real estate and personal property and powers of attorney.
Authentication of documents under the seal of a Notary Public makes them acceptable to the judicial or other public authorities in the country where they are to be used.
In addition to sealing by the Notary Public, many documents need to be legalised.
Examples of Notarial acts include:
- Attesting signatures to powers of attorney for the purchase and sale of
- property abroad.
- Preparing statutory declarations for those wishing to emigrate from this country.
- Certifying copy documents such as passports to be true copies of the originals.
- Attesting sponsorship declarations for persons wishing to visit this country.
- Attesting the signatures of directors and other company officers to company documents for use abroad.
- Attesting certificates of existence for people receiving overseas pensions.
- Preparing declarations of freedom to marry for persons wishing to be
- married abroad.
